About HeicJet
A small tool with one job
HeicJet converts iPhone photos (.heic) to formats the rest of the world opens — JPG, PNG, PDF — and does it entirely inside your browser. No account, no upload, no watermark, no email wall, no “3 free conversions per day”.
Why it exists
iPhone photos are HEIC. The format is efficient, but half the internet still expects JPG: email recipients, Windows machines, web forms, print shops. Every conversion route has a catch — accounts, file-size limits, uploads of personal photos to strangers’ servers. HeicJet removes all of them by moving the conversion to where the photo already is: your device.
How it works
A WebAssembly image decoder (built on the HEIF standard, ISO/IEC 23008-12) runs in a background thread in your browser. It decodes the photo, your browser re-encodes it to the format you picked, and the result is offered as a download. The site’s own server only ever serves the page you are reading — it never sees your photos. Details are in theprivacy policy.
What it deliberately does not do
- No cloud storage, no accounts, no photo library.
- No editing suite — convert and download is the whole product.
- No dynamic features pretending to be magic: limits (20 files, 30 MB each) are stated honestly.
